The main image is of a young female student holding colourful textbooks. She appears very friendly which would connote joy associated with college. The idea behind this is that it connotes ‘College Life’ (in real life and the magazine) can be very fun and enjoyable as the student on the front seems to be rather happy.

The way that features are included before the regulars, makes them more noticeable and therefore more likely to be read first and gaining them more attention. It also has a very simple and easy to follow layout, whilst still seeming as very interesting.

Evaluation of Research -
Analysing other college magazines has helped me to learn what makes a successful front cover and what elements I should consider when making my own. this was also supported by the questionnaire as it allowed me to see what people are interested in and then implement it into mine. Also having analysed two front covers allowed me to improve upon my understanding of what makes a successful cover and the different techniques involved. This also applies to the contents page as by understanding what students like and are interested in, then I could know what to include and how effective it would be. By understanding the images, colour, font and types of text that could relate to students, I was able to analyse and evaluate the many different features. The questionnaire was very useful as it meant I could base my cover and contents pages on what people would actually like to read, as well as what features to focus on to get the most successful outcome.
